Why NovaEel

North America is home to a valuable wild glass-eel fishery, yet the overwhelming majority of the economic value generated from those eels is realized overseas, where they are grown to market size. NovaEel was created around a different vision: developing the science and regulatory pathway needed to retain more of that value in North America through commercial eel aquaculture.

NovaEel has spent more than a decade working with researchers, technical specialists and industry partners to address key biological, production and regulatory challenges associated with eel aquaculture. Today, the company is advancing that work toward regulatory approval and commercial application, with the goal of establishing a viable North American eel-aquaculture industry, and capturing more of the economic value generated by the fishery.
